How Deep the Father's Love for us...

How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that helf Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

Falling leaves...

Maybe I'm a little slow but I kinda just realised that the trees are really shedding their leaves for the first time yesterday... Ok... basically, to get to sch from my hall, I have to pass through this grassy area with a few trees... it's like one big grass field (ok not that big) divided into individual patches by the concrete paths that cut across the field.. Anyway, so yesterday as I was walking to school... I passed the grassy area and there were some men who were clearing the leaves that have fallen from the trees... and they must have been at it for a while cuz the thing that caught my eye was a HUGE pile of leaves in the middle of one of the individual grass patches... and I think that pile of leaves came mainly from 1-2 trees only... there were so many leaves that the men actually had a small portable machine that blows out a jet of air to gather all the leaves into a pile... hmmm.. dunno if u get what I mean.. but bottom line is that there were ALOT of leaves.. and when I looked up, I realised also for the first time yesterday that the trees were really kinda bare already... so it's really autumn I guess...

Then today, when I was walking along a path that runs beside a road, I passed like many bags of leaves ... like every 200m I see like 3-4 big bags of leaves stacked together.. hmmm.. so that's really alot of leaves there... quite amazing actually that these trees can actually hold up so many leaves... hehe... =)

Well.. that's just my little observation.. heh...

Anyway, I will be back in sg in like slightly over 3 weeks time.. and suddenly I am kinda excited that I am gng back actually!!! Maybe cuz I realised abt 2 weeks back that this is the FIRST time in my life that I am not ard to celebrate Daddy's birthday with him!!!! O well... yea.. so I'll be back soooooooon!!! =) Tata for now...

The Power of Crying Out

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV)

And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
Psalms 50:15 (KJV)

‘And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’
Acts 2:21 (ESV)

Was kinda bored so I took the book "The Power of Crying Out" that Allvina (and whoever else... I can't remember if it was from a group of pple!!! Sorry...) gave me at the airport more than a month ago... and as I was reading it... I was really encouraged by the above verses... familiar though they may be, they never fail to assure me of God's faithfulness and sovereignty each time I read them... =) Thanx Allvina... I will remember to cry out to God in ALL circumstances! ;)

Monty Python's Spamalot

Went to watch Monty Python's Spamalot last night... it was so lame... and crappy... they just put anything they can possibly imagine into the musical... there's like no real plot... but still... it was a good laugh... and quite a good experience I guess... o well.. and I liked the sets... very kiddy though.. but maybe that's why I like them... and oh yes.. the silly killer rabbits... so corny... haha...

Hmmm... today was a weird day... I don't even know how to describe it actually... Nothing unsual happened.. it was in fact a rather normal day but I just felt like it wasn't normal... I can't even think of how to describe it... o well... maybe it's just one of those funny days.... or maybe i've been thinking alot... or maybe I'm just imagining things.. haha... but o well... I'm ok... yea.. so that's that.. my little weird 'normal' day.... sheesh.. I don't even know what I am typing.. so i better go...

Nottingham... a very pretty place...

Yepz... As mentioned in my previous post... I went to University of Nottingham on Saturday... It was a combined games event organized by the Singapore Societies of a few UK unis... there was Nottingham, Bristol, Warwick, Mancester and of cuz us, Imperial... Was really fun... =) Notts Uni is like really HUGE.... they have a few of each type of courts... as in a few floorball courts, a few netball courts, a few tennis courts etc... and alot of vast green open space... yea... and I guess cuz there are so few buildings in the area, the winds are much stronger than in London central so it was really cold... haha.. Anyway, I got to run the roadrace.. it was 2 rounds ard the nice lake IN the uni.. yes... they have a lake in the uni.. heh.. anyway, after the race I went to play Netball too... and I realised that I really miss playing Netball!!! Haha... oh... and cuz there were rather strong winds, I really had to throw the ball harder... esp when shooting.. cuz if not the wind will cause the netball to go a little off course... haha... Anyway, here are some pictures, courtesy of Binghao... most of the scenery pics were taken by him.. I was too busy playing... haha..

This was the lake I ran ard... =)

This path is so cool.. the trees on the 2 sides are like in 2 straight rows...

The 3 of us from IC who ran the roadrace...

Netball pics...

And guess who I met at Notts games? Xunyu!!! =)

Laura and I posing in front of all the trophies (that don't belong to us)...

And oh yes... Victoria... =) Finally got to talk to her a little more since coming over...

After the games, we went to the town centre to shop!!! It was such a BIG n cool shopping mall.. and clothes were nice n cheap too... haha... we could have spent FULL day there.... but the shops started closing at 5.30pm... heh... so we made our way back to Notts...

"Alone" in London...

Hmmm... so Dad & Mum have gone back to sg and I am now alone in London... but of cuz not really alone.. cuz God is with me... and yea... still got friends here... =) Thank God for them... and yesh... thank God for journey mercies as Dad & Mum flew back... Mummy smsed me the moment they touched down... =)

Anyway... Wow... it kinda just occurred to me that this is the furthest I've been from home without Dad & Mum... heh... yea... I'm a sheltered kid... well... sometimes I find it really restricting to have protective parents... but then again... when I think about how much they care for me and the love they pour out on me... I guess I can only thank God for them... Maybe this time away from home will help me grow up... haha... I know I'm 21 already... but I'm still pretty much a kid... so time to grow up and learn to be more independent I guess...

Sheesh... typing abt home is making me a li'l homesick... but ah well.. I'll be back in sg in like 38 days? Haha... Mummy promised to cook me my favourite foods when I get back... muahahaha... talk abt trying to be more independent... hahaha.... I've got a LOOOOOOOOONG way to go.... hehe... well... at least I've cooked a little here... I stir fried Broccoli... Kinda similar to the way Mummy does it.. tasted not bad... =)

Anyway... I'm going to Nottingham for games tmr... It's a yearly event when all the Singapore Societies of all the London Unis gather for games... Notts is like 3hrs busride away and we're leaving at like 5.15am so I'm going to sleep now... =) Don't wanna be a zombie tmr... Will take more photos and upload tmr!!! =) Tata...

Mamma Mia...

Watched Mamma Mia with Dad and Mum last night... =) It was fantastic... I really liked the music... even though I am not usually the type who appreciate music... I know nuts abt music... musically DEclined... haha... but the songs were really catchy n the dances were rather good too... Mum enjoyed it too. =) Yepz... And the best thing was... we paid for the cheapest tix (27.50pounds) but cuz the theatre was rather empty, I moved to a seat right smack in the centre of the circle seats section and i think that is prob like one of the most expensive tix... 50pounds? hahaha... so it was really great... ah... but i want the soundtrack!!! They were selling it at like 15pounds at the theatre... super ex la.. S$45!!! Sigh... I wonder if it is available in Singapore...

Anyway... I am feeling really lazy... I can't seem to get any productive work done... I just keep stoning when I have to do work... oopz... I have been trying to get some readings done for my Roman Empire module but i've been at it for quite a while but i haven't gotten past the first page!!! Cuz I keep getting distracted... Wonder if I will forget how to be more hardworking when i get back to NUS... heh...

Anyway, Dad and Mum are leaving for sg this thurs... wonder if I'll start getting homesick after they leave... but that aside... please pray for journey mercies and a pleasant ride home for them... =) And yes, thanx to all my dears and brothers n sisters in Christ who have been praying for me... it's comforting to know that I am remembered at Prayer Mtgs, YF and my SS class!!! Thank you all of you!!! =) *BIG Smilez*

kk.. gtg get some work done... ciaoz...

Greenwich and Fireworks...

Yesterday I went the Greenwich Meridian and stood right over the Longitude 0 - GMT 0 line!!! =) Anyway, it was a great day.. wonderful weather... except that it got really cold at night... we visited the Royal Observatory Greenwich, National Maritime Museum and Queen's House. =) There were still so many other places of interest to visit there but no time already... then at night, we went to the nearby Blackheath Gate to watch the Guy Fawke's Day Fireworks!!! We stood out in the field for about 2 hrs... and my toes were really freezing by the end of fireworks but it was worth it... it was a full 25min of fireworks!!! And it was sooooo close... the view of the fireworks was not like how it was across the Singapore River at Esplanade during this year's Fireworks Festival in sg... it was so close the fireworks were like exploding directly above you... =) SOOOOO pretty.. ah.... haha.. ok.. enuff talk.. photos...

This was the view we caught on the way up to the Royal Observatory which is situated on a hill.

Our feet... =) Recognize my golden shoe?!?

I think there is a One Tree Hill in Singapore too...

Us in front of the National Maritime Museum...
Inside the musuem...

Outside the Queen's House...

Inside the Queen's House... this guy is Rear-Admiral Sir Horatio Nelson... the guy who died in the Battle of Trafalgar... He had lost his left arm before that battle (so if u look carefully, the pic has him without his left arm!)

Just some church at Blackheath that looked nice...

Fireworks... they looked much prettier in real... I think I am just lousy at taking firework pics...
