Going HOME!!!

I am going home... as in SINGAPORE home... TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!! =) Never thought I'd be soooooooo excited to go home but oh my.. I am!!! =) Can't wait... I think I love everything back in Singapore alot... so as much as London has been really fun and exciting (and it still is) I am so happy to be going back... to my dear family, relatives, friends and fooooooood.... muahaha...

Anyway, I realised I haven't updated my blog since a week ago (not exactly a long time but did quite alot of stuff the past week)... Last Saturday I went to Buckingham Palace to watch the changing of guards with Binghap and Lap... It was soooooooo crowded.. but thank God for the good weather... cold but at least the sun was up... (the last time I went to watch it was drizzling and they cancelled the thing!!!)... yea.. and cuz we were standing in the wrong position we couldn't get a very good view but it was good enuff I guess... not bad...

Then on Tuesday, I had my German Christmas Test... and oopz... looks like I didn't do too well... haha.. oh well... should pass I guess... =) talk abt being slack... hehe...

Wednesday I visited Northend Road with Terence... it was a nice place.. like a 'pasar malam' with proper shops along the side... it was really quite a nice shopping place.. then after that we went to Oxford Street to shop somemore.. Hahahaha.... Then that night we had Linstead Christmas Dinner... the cooks really did put in alot more effort to make our dinner better that night so it was kinda nice... yepz.. then ended the day with Linstead Cell...

Thurdays we had a Linstead Christmas Party at the Cafe... we had minced pies and log cake and fruit cake n chocolate... followed by a little Birthday Celebration for Catherine (a fellow Sg hallmate)... the cake the other singaporeans baked was really quite good.. =) But yep... So had alot of nice sweet food that night... And talking abt sweet food... the mincepies are REALLY sweet... the first time I tried a minced pie was last last Thursday... at the Christian Union's Carol Service... I thought minced pies were filled with some minced meat or something!!! But nope... it's a really sweeeeeeeet thick 'syrup' with bits of fruit and raisins inside... haha... Blur sotong I am eh? Mountain tortoise... hehe

Then Friday I went to Harrods to do some last min gift shopping (I only bought teas and cookies la... no LV or Prada bags... hehe) and.. today... I went to CAMDEN TOWN!!! Went there with Binghao (we're kinda the few left still in London... everyone seem to have flown off to somewhere... ) and my!!! It was a shopping haven... fortunately I managed to not buy anything for myself though I was tempted on many occasions... it was such a BIG market place (or rather it was made up of MANY market places)... like many Bugis Streets put together!!! Shopped from like 11am to 5.30pm!!! Oh and we tried the BIG triple choc donut which was soooooooooo sweet!!! Like eating sugar!!! Hahaha... =) But it was really fun.. so many interesting things to see.... =) and thanx Binghao for being such good company.. hahaha... and thanx for helping me not to spend too much too!!! Hehe... =)

Ok... gtg now... got to pack up to fly back to sg tmr!!! =)

Chicago

I went to catch Chicago on wednesday... it was ok... not as entertaining as The Producers I feel but... when I really gave some thought to the plot, I kinda feel that it's a very sad reflection of this world... people chasing after fame, trampling over those who are in their way... it really seems like a very ruthless competition... doing everything one can possibly do to beat the rest, even if it means resorting to some despicable means... O well... Hmmm.....I don't wanna be part of the chase for things that don't last... *shudders*

Ok... those were just some thoughts that came to mind... hehe... yea.. and now for a few pictures... This one below was taken inside the Cambridge Theatre... From the left... that's Zhengyuan, me and Terence...

And these were taken outside of course.. =)

River Thames Cruise

Went for my hall's River Thames Cruise last night... nice view from the boat (yea... more a boat than a cruise definitely) but it got kinda boring after a while cuz the boat was just going up and down Thames.. no idea how many U-turns it made... haha... got some pics.. but the scenary ones didn't turn out well cuz it was dark so had to use night mode... but the problem is that night mode causes the aperture of the camera to be opened for a really long time so u'd need to hold the camera really steady for a few seconds... BUT... the boat was moving too fast.. so mostly turned out blurry... o well...

Anyway, this is a pic of me with my 3 other neighbours who share the same corridor w me... =) From the left, Rachel (her room's right beside mine), then Jessica (her room's diagonally across from mine) and then that's Clara who's standing beside me (her room's directly facing mine)..

Some pictures from the boat...

The Linstead Singaporeans... =)

Yepz.. that's it for now... oh ya.. actually I have a video of one of my friends singing a song after inhaling helium.. really hilarious.. but first I need to find out who to upload videos.. till then.. be patient and wait... =)

Tata... gng to watch Chicago later... =) (sheesh... I am really slack... hahaha)

A wonderful weekend in the City of Bath and Stonehenge...

Yepz... I spent the last weekend at Bath... and thank God for the wonderful weather that made the whole trip even more enjoyable... it was amazing how He made the weather work out for us... there were blue clear skies the day we arrived (saturday)... something that has been rather rare the past few days according to Jingpeng who is also an NUS exchange student who's studying in the Uni of Bath now (I must confess I didn't know him even though we're both in Chem Eng and supposedly attended some of the same tutorial classes back in NUS... oopz... ) Yea... anyway, we had really wonderful weather when we went to visit Stonehenge too... and the best part is... just as we were abt to board the minibus back from Stonehenge to Bath, it started drizzling... and it rained a little on our journey back but when we reached back in Bath.. the rain stopped again.. then on sunday... it rained when we were indoors in the museum but whenever we were outdoors it stopped!!! =) Amazing eh?

Oh yes... and we stayed in a really nice youth hostel too... here's a pic of it... it was situated on top of a little small hill... I guess there are just soooo many hills in Bath that almost everything is built on elevated ground of some sort.. haha...

Then after dumping our stuff at the hostel.. Jingpeng brought us to a big open field where we could see the whole view of the city... soooo pretty... these photos don't even capture half the beauty but i guess that's the best I could get...

These were taken along the walk from the hostel back to the city centre...

Then off we went to Stonehenge...

Back Bath again that night... we walked around the Christmas markets (stalls set up specially during the Christmas period ONLY... even Dad and Mum who were about a month ago didn't get to see them!!! haha...)
Oh!!! Not forgetting we had really yummy indian food at a restaurant and we kinda ordered the spiciest dish they had... and the waiter kept telling us that that dish is "very, very, very, very, .... hot"... it was really rather hilarious.. anyway.. the food turned out really good and yea... I miss spicy food so it tasted even better... =) too bad i forgot to take a pic of the food we had... hehe...

Well... on Sunday morning, we went to the Abbey (a big church in the centre of Bath)... but it was a very traditional Anglican church... it reminded me more of the Catholic masses I used to attend back in CHIJ Kellock (my primary sch)... hehe.. then after that we went for brunch at Sally Lunn's... the bread was rather normal but they had super interesting spreads.. we ordered the brandy butter, cinnamon butter, choc butter, coffee and walnut butter and a smoked salmon pate (or however it is spelt)... it was quite a nice experience... if u don't think abt the price that is.. haha...

Anyway, this was the sign outside the Sally Lunn's shop...
And look at the spread of food!!! =)

We then went to walk around the city... this pic below was taken at the Royal Crescent...

We then came to this nice little house... it looks like some house in a fairytale... =)

And this was the nice old tree outside that house...

The park...
The playground... overgrown kids...

And finally the Roman Bath Museum... =)

I REALLY enjoyed myself over that weekend.. thanks to Zhonghan, Binghao and Teresa... =) and of course... Jingpeng for bringing us ard... and God.. for the weather and EVERYTHING... =)
